On Friday, November 4th, 2016, the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute is holding its Fifth Annual Spirit of Hope Celebration. This event marks the 25 years the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute has served patients and families in Lackawanna, Luzerne, Wayne, Wyoming, Pike, Susquehanna and Monroe counties.
The proceeds from the Spirit of Hope Celebration benefit the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s Patient Navigation Program which helps low income, uninsured and underinsured individuals obtain recommended breast, colon, and cervical cancer screenings.
The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute’s Patient Navigator Program also assists people with an issues that may prevent them from obtaining cancer screenings, including childcare, financial needs, and transportation. They support patients throughout the process of diagnosis, treatment and aftercare, and connect them with a primary care facility to promote the continuation of preventative care services.
As an Emerald Sponsor for the Spirit of Hope Celebration, Bill Rinaldi and Mark Construction are proud to support this important cause that continues to save lives in our community. The Northeast Regional Cancer Institute also focuses its efforts on additional community and patient services, cancer surveillance, as well as hospital and practice support services.
As an exclusively local entity that is uniquely independent, the organization is able to respond flexibly to the needs of those living in our area, with 100% of its resources being utilized to help participants in our region.
Thus far, the proceeds from this annual event have been able to provide nearly 2,500 cancer screenings to those in need. As a continuing supporter and avid philanthropist, Bill Rinaldi understands how vital it is for our community to be involved in the Northeast Regional Cancer Institute Patient Navigation Program and encourages you find out more about this worthwhile cause.
